1881 Census of Canada. Town of Dundas, County of Wentworth: HAYES, Barbarah, widow age 41, store keeper, born in Ireland. Children, all born in Ontario, Canada: Catherine (20), William (age 18, engineer), John (16), Ellin (14), Barbarah (12), Jeremiah (10), Mary (8).^[2]
