Nora Harrison McDonald was born on November 7, 1882 in Blue Ridge, Collin, Texas, United States, daughter of Peter Monroe McDonald (1857–1940) and Mary Griffith (1865–1937).
Nora married James L. Gentry (born on February 14, 1878 in Alabama, United States). on 11 Apr 1901 in Collin, Texas. [1] Their children were:
- Peter Thomas Verdee Gentry (1902–1985)
- Attie Verdee Gentry (1905–1978)
- Mollie Gentry (1908–1964)
- Cecil C. Gentry (~1911–1972)
- Ruby Jewel Gentry (1911–1987)
- Raymond Gentry (1914–~1937)
- Jimmie Mildred Gentry (1917–1987)
