In the summer of 1905, Minnie travelled to the west coast with some of her Snodgrass cousins after a few years of teaching in local schools.[1][2][3] The following year she married Alexander Dawe, the son of English and German immigrants, who worked as a farmer near Abilene where they raised their two boys.[4][5][6]
