In 1851Census records for Marlborough, Carleton, Canada West 'Ontario', Mary Anne Olmstead was listed with her husband Thomas Olmstead.^[2]

She married Thomas Olmstead and they had twelve children:

Mary Ann died in the Town of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada in 1894,^[3] and is buried there next to her husband in the Hillcrest Cemetery.^[4]

Research Notes

Mary Ann's surname in the 1851(2) Census record is Olmstead. The convention on the page was to mark surnames as "Do." for Ditto below the head of each household. The 1851 census in Ontario began on 16 January 1852.
