Who are the parents of the William married to Janet Ferguson?
Given the naming pattern of known children, and DNA links between descendants [2] it is assumed that the William baptized 1736 is one and the same as the William who married Janet Ferguson and had a family around Ochtertyre, Kincardine by Doune from 1762 - 1782.
(William and Margaret (Gray) McEwan baptized their next child at St Ninians but the rest were baptized in Kincardine by Doune.)
William and Janet's son Alexander married Margaret Duncanson and DNA matches exist between descendants of Alexander/Margaret, and descendants of William McEwan/Margaret Gray's son James, with at least one segment [3] being determined to have come down from at least Archibald Henderson or Margaret McEwan - only a couple more generations to prove the linkages for!
