Mother Rebecca Rogers 1761-1840

Hugh was born in 1790 in South Carolina. He was the son of Hugh McDonald (1757-1828) and Rebecca A (Rogers) McDonald (1761-1850).

Records show that a Hugh McDonald married Nancy Lauderdale, so apparently Nancy was a widow when she married Hugh 14 April 1812 in Greene County, Tennessee (assuming that this is the correct record of their marriage).

He passed away in December 1855 in Casey County, Kentucky. He is buried in Thomas Ridge Cemetery in Phil, Casey County, Kentucky. ^[2]

On the 1840 census, Hugh McDonald and Liberty Chilton were neighbors. Hugh's daughter Rebecca married Liberty's son, George Washington Chilton.
