Albert Clyde McDonald was born in Dayton, Tennessee on September 15, 1930. He was the son of Lewis McDonald and Nahoma Welch.
Albert married Shirley Shields in 1956.
Albert served as an Alabama State Senator from 1974 to 1982, as Alabama's Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries from 1983 to 1991, and as Executive Director of the Alabama Farm Services Administration starting in 1991.
Albert died in Madison, Alabama on July 6, 2014, and was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama.[1]
