Elizabeth Taylor McDonald was born on May 8, 1883 in Rutherglen, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of George McDonald^[1][2].

She married Thomas Burton^[1]

Bessie', a domestic servant before her marriage, travelled with her three sons to join her husband, Thomas, on the ship Ajana in 1912. Their family grew to seven boys & one girl. She & Thomas were involved in building the Mt Hawthorn Presbyterian Church in Kalgoorlie Street in 1937/38^[1].

Elizabeth died on October 2, 1951 in Wembley, Western Australia, Australia, aged 68^[2] .
