Margaret Allison McDonald was born around 1860 in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Elizabeth (Deans) McDonald and John Stephen Mcdonald.

In 1896 Margaret applied for a divorce from her husband William on the grounds of desertion.Mr Wasley appeared for the petitioner, who swore that she was married to the respondent at a registry office in Collingwood in 1882. Shortly after marriage they went to live at Drouin and Toongabbie. About five years after marriage respondent, who had given way to drink, he attempted to take her life. She left him, but on his promising to mend his ways she lived with him again. In September 1891 he cleared out, leaving her with six children, who had been committed to the care of the State. She had not heard of him since he left. A decree nisi was granted, with costs. [2]
Margaret married William Watts in 1896 in Victoria.[3]
Margaret died age 83 in 1943 in Wonthaggi, Victoria. [4]
