Biography

James Hughes McDonald was born on July 26, 1852 in Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama, United States, son of James M McDonald (~1807–1851) and Mary Elizabeth Hughes (~1815–~1893).

James married Dora Belle Kirk (born on November 5, 1860; daughter of Allen Webb Kirk and Alice Eliza (Crawford) Kirk). Their children were:

In 1900, James (47) was living in Justice Precinct 5, Bell with his children, James H (47), Hallie P (20), Walter B (16), Susan L (14), James A (12), Alice I (2), and Ira L (1); and Belle McDonald (39), Lafayette McDonald (10), and Russell Glascock (21). [1]

James died on June 10, 1935 in Mobeetie, Wheeler, Texas, aged 82.
