Biography
The son of Clarence Taylor McAnally and Tennessee (Hollis) McAnally, Raymond McAnally was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee[1] in 1910, residing with his family at their farm on Route 6, Buffalo Road.[2]
Raymond married Sarah Margaret (Breckenridge) McAnally, the daughter of Claude Randolph Breckenridge and Tina Willie Allison, marrying in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 4, 1937,[3] having one son together. They made their home in Savannah, Tennessee, where Raymond owned the McAnally Motor Company.[4] By 1950, Raymond worked for a farm implement company as a salesman.[5]
Raymond McAnally drowned in the Tennessee River, near Crump Landing, at the age of 40, as the boat he was carrying feed in a boat, poling it across the river, capsized.[6][7] He is buried at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, Tennessee.[8]
