Frank Matters was born in Victoria, Australia

Franklin ("Frank") James Matters was born in 1901 at Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Brightman Matters and Louisa Orme. [1]

On 17 November 1926 Frank married Clarice Sylvia Haines, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. L. Haines, of Millicent North, at the Salvation Army hall, Millicent, South Australia. His parents travelled from Melbourne to be present at the wedding. [2]

He was the bandmaster of the Salvation Army Band when it formed in 1928 at Millicent, South Australia. [3]

Frank Matters is a Military Veteran.
Served in the Royal Australian Air Force 1942-1946
Sergeant at 14 Aircraft Repair Depot on discharge

He enlisted at Mount Gambier, South Australia, in the Royal Australian Air Force on 26 June 1942 and was discharged 18 December 1946, with rank of Sergeant and posting at discharge at 14 Aircraft Repair Depot. [4] [5]

He died on 20 November 1974 and was buried at Carinya Gardens, Mount Gambier, South Australia. [6]
