Frank Matters was born in Victoria, Australia

Franklin ("Frank") James Matters was born in 1901 at Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Brightman Matters and Louisa Orme. ^[1]

On 17 November 1926 Frank married Clarice Sylvia Haines, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. L. Haines, of Millicent North, at the Salvation Army hall, Millicent, South Australia. His parents travelled from Melbourne to be present at the wedding. ^[2]

He was the bandmaster of the Salvation Army Band when it formed in 1928 at Millicent, South Australia. ^[3]
