Biography

John Maplett was born about 1541 at Northall, (now Northolt), Middlesex, England.[1] [2] He died September 1592 and was buried on 7 Sept1592 in Northall (now Northolt), Middlesex, England.[3] [4] He married Ellen (Leaper) Maplett about 1572 in Northall, Middlesex, England where she was born in Abt. 1545. Together they reared five children who were mentioned in His will; Margaret, Ellen, Thomas, John and Mary.[5] She died November 1595 in London, England.

More About John Maplett (Maplet): John Maplet, clerk, the testator of 1592 was matriculated as a sizar of Queen's College, Cambridge, in Dec. 1560, was admitted to the degree of bachelor of Arts in 1563/4, was a fellow of Catherine Hall in Aug. 1564, received the degree of master of Arts in 1567, and was instituted to the rectory of Great Leighs, co. Essex, 26 Nov. 1568. This benefice he exchanged for the vicarage of Northall (now Northolt), co. Middlesex, on 30 Apr.1576, and he was buried in the chancel of Northall church on 7 Sept. 1592. He was the author of treatises on natural history and astrology. [6][7]
