Biography
Sarah Manton was born in 1880. [1] She is the daughter of George Manton and Elizabeth Ward.
She married Charles Metters.
She died in 1945, [2] at the Royal Melbourne Hospital,
"METTERS. — On August 1, at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Sarah, loving wife of the late Charles Metters, of 10 Bayview-street. Altona, loving mother of Violet (Mrs Layton) and Leslie, fond grandma of Charles (R.A.A.F.), late of St. Kilda aged 63 years." [3]
She was buried on 3 Aug 1945 in the Melbourne General Cemetery, Carlton.
"METTERS. —The Funeral of the late Mrs. SARAH METTERS will leave the residence of her sister, Mrs. Girven, 41 Barnett-street, Kensington. TO-MORROW, at 11 a.m., Melbourne Cemetery. Carlton.
