Donelson Palestine Manes was born in 1821 in Hawkins, Tennessee, his father, Jesse, was 31 and his mother, Alice, was 29.

He married Mary Rachel Johnston on February 15, 1842, in his hometown. image is attached.

NOTE: Wonder IF this Rachel JOHNSTON is a sister to the Milla Johnston that Donelson's brother, Jesse married? IF only we can find the Johnston family.
