Biography

George Mallars was born about 1771 in Surrey. He died in 1842. ^[1]

most records show his surname as Mallars but occasionally as Mallar or Mallan.

In 1841 he was resident in the Norwood Workhouse, Lambeth, Surrey, shown as 70, watchman, born county. ^[2]

It would seem likely that a "watchman" might be the George Mallars constable recorded giving evidence in several Old Bailey trials in the 1820s.^[3]

Son George born 1807? - yes seems highly likely, shown on convict records as born Lambeth Surrey and of an age. ^[7]

Why the gap in children between 1809 and 1816?
