Biography

Mabel Clare Malcolm was born on 12 Oct 1872 in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York, United States, daughter of Stephen VanRensselaer Malcomb and Mary Ann Weston.

In the 1875 census Mabel C, age 2, was a daughter in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York.[1]

In the 1880 census Mabel, age 8, was the daughter of Stephen Malcolm in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York.[2]

Mabel married Charles Martin Kingsley on 18 Mar 1893 in Syracuse, New York.[3] Their children were:

  1. Dorothy Mary Kingsley (1897–1967)
  2. Emily Elizabeth Kingsley (1901–1981)
  3. Malcom Martin Kingsley (1903–1978)
  4. Weston Hollister Kingsley (1908–1992)
  5. Charles Frederick Kingsley (1911–1972)

In the 1900 census Mabel, age 28, was the wife of Chas I Kingsley in Judicial Township 2, Santa Barbara, California.[4] They were listed with their daughter Dorothy and her brother-in-law Arthur Kingsley.

In the 1910 census Mable C, age 37, was in Santa Barbara Ward 7, Santa Barbara, California with her husband Charles and children Dorothy, Emily, Malcolm, and Weston.[5]

In the 1920 census Mable C, age 43, was in Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, California with her sons Weston and Chas.[6] Her future husband, Charles Murphy, was listed in the household as a boarder.

Mabel C, age 47, married Charles Murphy, age 67 years, son of John Murphy and A Bernard, on 18 Jun 1923 in Norwalk, Los Angeles, California.[7]

Mabel died on 17 Dec 1929 in Santa Barbara, California, aged 52.[8] She was buried in Santa Barbara.[9]
