Biography

Percy Lee Malcolm was born on 14 August 1907^[1] in Bellingham, Whatcom County, Washington.^[2] He was the son of Archibold Malcolm (1877-1935) and Geneva Pearl Burpee.^[3]

Percy married Marie Hanks in Bellingham, Washington, on 29 November 1928. They had a son and three daughters. They moved to Cottage Grove, Oregon, in 1940.^[2]

In October 1940, his name was published by the Number 3 Draft Board along with thousands of other draft eligible men subject to service in the United States Army. His draft number was 2371.^[4]

Percy was employed as head sawfiler for the Weyerhaeuser Company of Cottage Grove until his retirement in 1968.^[2]

In 1978, Percy resided at 1881 Harvey Road in Cottage Grove, Oregon.^[2]

Percy passed away at age 70 on 17 January 1978 in Lane County, Oregon.^[1][5] At the time of his death he had nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was buried at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.^[2]
