- Sophia Maitland was born about 1652 at Fife, Scotland. She married John Drummond KT PC. They were the parents of John and Mary. She died about 1682.
- Sophia Maitland is the daughter of Robert Maitland and Margaret Lundie.1 She married John Drummond, 1st Earl of Melfort, son of James Drummond, 3rd Earl of Perth and Lady Anne Gordon, on 30 September 1670.2
