Referring to an article written about the Denoon MacDonalds in the 21 September 1944 issue of the newspaper Casket, John G. Gibson in his Old and new world highland bagpiping states,

This family emigrated in 1790 [sic] to Prince Edward Island and thence to the Gulf Shore (Antigonish County), where they bought a property from a John MacNeil, Georgeville.”[2]
