Seth N. Lyon was born 28 AUG 1879 in Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. He came to the US in 1880 and the family settled in Forestport, NY. He married Harriet Spencer in 1905 and had 4 children: Loretta (1912-1969); Hubert C. (1915-2000); Theda (1918-1991); Dewey Edgar (1926-1993). He died 10 Jun 1962.

Obituary: Son of Seth and Charlotte Richards Lyon. Owner of a hunting camp and a guide in the Adirondacks for 46 years. He married Harriet Spencer Dec. 24, 1905 in Forestport. Mr: Lyon had owned and operated a camp at Little Woodhull, conducted a fur business in Forestport, and had been a guide at the Adirondack League Club. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Camile Chenard, Forestport, and Mrs. William Hughes, Port Leyden; two sons, Hubert Lyons, Whitesboro, and Dewey Lyons, Forestport; a brother, Edwin Lyons, Dolgeville, and three sisters, Mrs. C. E. Courtney, Mrs. Walter Johnson, and Mrs. Leroy Fallon, all of Oneida.

R. Lyon a cousin of Seth has gotten his Y-DNA tested and it is in haplogroup R-M269 which is a subgroup of R1b, the dominant haplo group in Western Europe and the British Isles. This would trace the Y-DNA all the way back to Daniel Lyon (1763-1854).
