William Lunsford Lee was born December 20, 1834 to William Greenberry Lee and Martha Jane Taylor in Covington, Alabama.
He served the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. He was a Private in the 38th Alabama Infantry, Company A. Wounded in the Atlanta Campaign in the Battle of Resaca in Georgia. He was shot in right arm, breaking the bone. He was sent to a Montgomery Hospital to recover.
He married Sara Melinda Beck in 1856 at the age of 22. They had 8 children together.
He died, at the age of 79, on August 14, 1914 in Butler County, Alabama. He is buried at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Covington County, Alabama.[1]
