Biography

Alexander was born about 1837. He is the son of George Larnach and Mary Ettles. He was baptised at the Watten, Caithness, parish kirk on 23 April 1837.^[1] Alexander was likely named after Reverend Alexander Gunn who was the minister at the Watten Presbyterian Church at the time of his birth. Several boys who were born in Watten around this time were named after the minister.
