Biography
James was born in 1843 in Morgan County, Kentucky James LaMaster ... [1]
James Lewis LaMaster served as a Private in the Civil War in the Union Army. He enlisted for a term of one year on 17 August 1864 in Savannah, Missouri and mustered in on 1 September 1864 at St. Joseph, Missouri to join Company B of the 43rd Regiment of Missouri Infantry. He was 5 feet and 10 inches tall, with light hair, blue eyes, and a florid complexion. He served until June 30, 1865, at which time he mustered out at Benton Barracks.[2]
Funeral services were held at the Guilford, MO Methodist Church, South on 21 August 1921, Rev. J. D. Swearengen, pastor, presiding.
