John Keller Probate Records

1815 --- Probate Records found in the Harrison County, Indiana Court House Records ----- From the probate records in Box 45 found in the Harrison County Court House at Corydon, Indiana we can determine who the adult heirs were as well as what his estate contained. There was no will that distributed the estate so it went by the Probate Laws active at the time.

Abraham was the executor and he handled all of the dealings with the court. The sale brought $554 48 and ½ cents. Abraham divides this number by 9 each time he does calculations on the papers. He filed the Estate Sale papers with the clerk of court on 8 Dec. 1815 and Abraham paid $2 to the court for filing. On 1st January 1816 Abraham again paid the court $2 for filing.

The rest of the papers are small pieces of paper on which receipts are written. It is through these receipts that we learn who the family members were. According to Abraham’s division the estate was to be divided into 9 equal shares.
