Biography

Catherine was born in 1887. She was the daughter of George Kay and Catherine Fraser.[1]

Catherine married Conrad Davis Crispin in 1913 [2][3]

New Zealand Times, Volume XXXVII, Issue 8517, 5 September 1913 (Wellington) A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Webb street Methodist Church on Tuesday, last, when Miss Catherine Olive Kay, daughter of Mr George Kay, of Cheviot, Canterbury, was married to Mr Conrad Davis Crispin, son of the late Mr F. J. Crispin, of Marlborough. The Rev. G. Knowles-Smith was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of white silk, gracefully draped with some beautiful Brussels lace, and a long tulle veil was worn over a coronet of orange blossoms. Her shower bouquet was of white cyclamen and snowdrops. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Amelia White, wore ivory taffetas and "Juliet" cap, and carried a bouquet of pale pink flowers. The little flower girls were Miss Ellen Aames and Miss Irene Henniker (a niece of the bride). They were dressed alike in dainty silk dresses, and carried baskets of violets, and, instead of hats, wore pretty wreaths of violets. Their gifts from the bridegroom were gold half-circle brooches set with pearls, and the older maid received a silver handbag. Mr George Henniker was best man, and Mr Percy Henniker was groomsman. After the ceremony, which was witnessed by a great many friends, a reception was held at Godber’s, the toasts of the bride and bridegroom, bridesmaids, and guests being proposed by Messrs Bottomley, Crispin, and F. Baker respectively, and Messrs G. Henniker, B. Baker, and the bridegroom responded. Later Mr and Mrs C. D, Crispin left for the South Island, where they will make their future home.
