Biography
Emma was born in 1868[1] in Yokefleet, Yorkshire, England, where she lived with her parents, Charles and Ann (née Guy), in 1871.[2] The family had moved to Garthorpe, Yorkshire, by 1881.[3]
At the time of the 1891 census, Emma was working as a domestic servant for the Thompson family in Swinefleet, Yorkshire.[4]
Aged 42, Emma married 72 year-old widower John Brown in November 1910.[5][6] They lived together at Belby in the parish of Howden at the time of the 1911 census.[7]
