Biography
Thomas was born about 1836 at Pillowell[1], West Dean[2], Gloucestershire, England and baptised on the 24th April 1836 at St. Paul, Parkend, Gloucestershire, England, the son of Henry James (labourer) and Mary James of Pillowell[1]
In 1852, Thomas was named in the will of his father Henry[3].
On the 28th July 1861, Thomas married Harriet Jones at Newnham, Gloucestershire, England. Thomas James, bachelor, hallier of Newnham, son of Henry James (Hallier) and Harriet Jones, spinster of Newnham, daughter of Thomas Jones (Blacksmith). Witnessed by Henry James & Caroline James[4]
