Biography

Samuel was born about 1832 in Somerset, England. He was the son of Simeon Inder and Mary Russel.^[1]

In the 1841 England and Wales census, he was in a household at North Street, Martock, Somerset, aged 9, with his parents and 7 siblings^[2]

In the 1851 census, he was in a household at North Street, Martock, aged 18, an assistant, with his parents and 2 siblings.^[3]

On 29 October 1857, at Hamilton, Tasmania, aged 23, he married Sarah Robertson, aged 18.^[4]

They had several children:

1. Unnamed female, 1859, Hamilton, Tasmania.
2. Samuel Inder 1861, FIngal, Tasmania, died aged 6 weeks.

In the birth records, Samuel's occupation was butcher.

Robertson, of Edinburgh; Mrs Inder died in June 1895, leaving 6 daughters and 4 sons; Mr Inder was bured in Blackstone Hill Cemetery on Thursday last, Rev. Mr Drake officiating.
