Percy Hornibrook was born in the Colony of Queensland (1859-1900)
Percy Hornibrook is Notable.
Percival Mitchell Hornibrook was born in 1899 at or about Obi Obi in Queensland in what was just about to become Australia. He was the son of James Hornibrook and his wife Amy Isabell (Mitchell) Hornibrook.
Percival Mitchell Hornibrook, known as Percy was an Australian cricketer who played in only six Test matches in 1929 and 1930. He had made is Test debut against the touring England team at Melbourne from March 08 - 16, 1929. But unfortunately he played his last only the following year, also against England at The Oval in London, from August 16 - 22, 1930. The fact that his home State, Queensland, was not admitted to the Sheffield Shield until 1926, made it harder for him to gain recognition. Even though he had first attracted attention by taking 81 wickets at an average of 9, on a tour of New Zealand in 1920. Percy Hornibrook eventually retired from club cricket in 1940 after 71 First Class matches.
Percy Hornibrook passed away in August 1976 at or about Spring Hill in Queensland Australia and is believed to be buried at St Augustines Anglican Church Columbarium, in Hamilton, Queensland, Australia.
