Biography

John was born in 1860. He was the son of John (McDonald) Hope and Ann (Loraine) Hope . He passed away in 1939.

John came to Australia with his mother and brother in 1862 on the ship "Eastern Empire". His father John, was already in Australia. The passages for the family were paid for by Thomas Johnson, who brought John Hope out to work at his mine.

John and Lily Baldwin married in 1884. They had at least 6 children, John, Lily, Doris, Thomas, Minnie and Martha.
