Biography

Nathaniel Hooker was born in 1830, in Cornwall, England. He was the son of John Hooker and Jane Vercoe.^[1]

Christened 3 OCT 1830. St Just In Roseland, Cornwall, England.^[1]

1841 Census. St Mawes.^[2]

On 24 February 1842 he arrived in New Plymouth, New Zealand, on the Timandra.^[3]

He married 1ly Elizabeth Lye in 1852.^[4]

On 4 Aug. 1885 he married 2ly Annie Butterworth.^[5]

Nathaniel Hooker died on 27 January 1901, at New Plymouth,^[6] and was buried at Te Henui Cemetery.
