Ernest Holtz Victim of Heart Attack

Ernest Holtz, 76, of Otisco, died suddenly at his home Saturday morning around 10 a.m. He had been making some repairs on the garage and suffered a heart attack. Mrs. Holtz found him about five minutes later. He had been troubled with a heart condition for some time and had had slight attacks previously. Mr. Holtz was born on February 8, 1874 in Otisco, son of Ferdinand and Bertha Holtz. His entire lifetime was spent in farming on the home place although he had been interested financially in other ventures. He had served as director of the Otisco State bank since October of 1931. The deceased was united in marriage to Clara Rudolph on October 24, 1899. They celebrated their golden wedding last fall. His wife and one son, Harvey Holtz of Austin, survive, as does one sister, Mrs. Ella Schultz of Wichita Falls, Texas. Four brothers, Julius, Otto, Fred and Paul, and two sisters, Tena and Lena, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Pfaff chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. for the family and the church services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church that afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. Edgar Eifert officiated and burial followed in the Woodville cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Rudolph, John Rudolph, Herbert Rudolph, Eric Holtz, Ed Holtz and Herman Holtz, all nephews of the deceased.
