Bendigo Advertiser Wednesday 9th February 1910 FARMER KILLED Quambatook, 8th February. A farmer named Thomas Holt was killed here this morning. He was engaged carting wheat when the horses became startled and bolted, knocking Holt over. The wag- gon passed over his body, killing him al- most instantly. Mr. Chivers, of Eaglehawk, who is doing insurance business in the district, summoned Dr. W. Phelps, but who could only pronounce life extinct. Holt, who was about 50 years of age, was recently married. The waggon, which was drawn by five horses, was smashed to pieces. The Argus 9th February 1910 Killed By Bolting Horses QUAMBATOOK, Tuesday. - Thomas Holt, an old resident, was killed this morning. He was endeavoring to stop a bolting waggon team, and slipped. Both wheels passed over his body. He sustained a broken spine and internal injuries, and died just after the arrival of Dr. Phelps. Deceased was forty-five years of age, and leaves a widow but no family. The Argus Wednesday 15th February 1910 HOLT.—On the 8th February, Thomas, the beloved husband of Elizabeth Holt, of Quambatook, accidentally killed. "Thou knowest best."
