When you post DNA test information on a WikiTree profile, WikiTree needs to be able to see the profile Family Tree Tab (top of WikiTree Profile) to make DNA connections down the ancestral lines.
I would like to suggest that you change the privacy level on this profile and all of the ancestors to be at a level that allows everyone to see the Family Tree tab. Click the "Privacy" tab and set your level to "Private with public tree" or "Private with public biography and tree". For further information on the available Privacy levels needed to facilitate this, please see: Wikitree privacy controls
Thank you, Meghan
I don't believe she adopted the name after her marriage to John Fullarton as her name on their marriage certificate that my Uncle photocopied while in Scotland has her name as Ellen Porteous Frew.
In the 1891 Edinburgh Death Registry there is an entry for Janet Porteous, widow of Nicol Porteous, on the same page as Ellen/Helens .
Am hoping someone form the Porteous family may have some input.
The records are clear as to the given birth marriage and death Christian name for Helen Frew. Porteous is not recorded as her second name. Helen and Ellen are interchangeable in Scotland, the same as Jane and Jean. Certainly could be possible that she adopted the name for herself following her marriage to John Fullarton. OPR record as follows: 11/06/1807 FREW HELEN WILLIAM FREW/ISABELLA ROBERTSON FR2042 (FR2042) F GLASGOW GLASGOW CITY CITY/LANARK 644/01 0200 0367 Marriage to John Archibald Fullarton: Name: Helen Frew Gender: Female Marriage Date: 2 Mar 1829 Marriage Place: Glasgow,Lanark,Scotland Father: William Frew Spouse: John Archibald Fullarton FHL Film Number: 0102928, 1042986, 1042942, 0102927, 1042987, 1042988, 1042989 1891 FULLARTON HELEN FREW F 84 NEWINGTON EDINBURGH CITY/MIDLOTHIAN 685/05 0976
