Henry was born in 1865.^[1] Henry, child of Alexander Staveley & Katharine Cumpstone Florence, was baptised on 26 July 1865 in Wolverhampton, St Peter, Staffordshire, England.^[2] In the 1901 census Henry (age 35) was the son of Alexander S Hill in Kensington, London, England.^[3] Henry was at St. John's College, Oxford, matriculating on 11 October 1884 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He was a barrister-at-law.^[4]

Henry married Eileen Degrey D'arey on 22 June 1901 in All Saints, Ennismore Gardens, Knightsbridge, London, Westminster, England.^[5] The marriage was registered in the St George Hanover Square district.^[6] Henry was in a directory in 1910 at 6 Pump court, London, England.^[7] In the 1911 census Henry (age 45), Barrister At Law, was the married head of household in Oxley Manor Nr Wolverhampton, Bushbury, England.^[8] Henry was in Kelly's Directory of Staffordshire in 1916 living at D.L.
