(11, F), iv) Addie M. (9, F), v) Crystal A. (5, F), vi) Charles J. (2, M). Gideon's occupation was a farmer. David's occupation was a farm laborer, who was working out. George's occupation was a farm laborer on the home farm.
On 20 Dec 1936,[5] George Hiestand's father, Gideon E. Hiestand, died in Washington Township, Vernon County, Missouri.

Hiestand (age 33, single, born Missouri) was living on a rented farm in Lincoln Township, Anderson County, Kansas as head of household with his widowed mother, Lilly Hiestand (age 57, widowed, born Missouri), with his brother [not as listed his son], Chas. In 1935,[6] George had been living in rural Vernon County, Missouri, while Lilly and Charles had been living in rural Anderson County, Kansas.
On 16 Oct 1940 in Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas,[1] George Cleo Hiestand (age 34) registered for the World War II Draft. George was born on 13 Mar 1906 in Montenallo, Missouri. He was currently residing at Rt. 2, Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas. His contact person was his mother, Mrs. Lillie Myrtle Hiestand, who resided at the same address. George was employed as a farmer near Bush City, Anderson County, Kansas.
About 1947, George Hiestand married Marguerite I. (Day) Decker. The marriage date is estimated based on the 1950 federal census that recorded them being married.[7]
In 1950,[7] George C. Hiestand (age 42, born Missouri) was living in Welda Township, Anderson County, Kansas as head of household with his wife, Marguerite I. Hiestand (age 35, born Nebraska), with his step-children born Kansas, (age, sex): i) William Decker (18, M), ii) Beverly Decker (15, F). George's occupation was a farmer.
In 1961,[8] George C. Hiestand (age 54) was living at 2614 Freeman Street, Kansas City, Kansas with his wife, Marguerite Hiestand (age 46).
George C. Hiestand died on 20 Apr 1988 (probably in Kansas),[9] and he was buried in the Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Vernon County, Missouri, USA. [2]
