WHILE DOING THEIR DUTY Evening Post, Volume XCV, Issue 27, 31 January 1918 Sgt. G. Henneker, killed in action on the 13th, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henneker, of Taranaki-street, and a longstanding member of the Central Mission Silver Band. He first enlisted with the forces to go to Samoa, and on his return was invalided and underwent an operation in the Wellington Hospital. After recovery he re-enlisted with the 26th Reinforcement. He was also an enthusiastic member of the Loyal Orange Institution, and an officer of L.0.L., No. 43. A memorial service will be held in Everybody's Theatre on Sunday evening, when the various bodies to which he belonged will pay a tribute to his memory. It may be added that his only brother is now on the way to the front.
