Aver was born in 1902 in Alabama, the daughter of John Marion Henderson and Jackline Overton, the fourth of their seven children. In 1910, they lived in Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama. Aver Henderson, 9, born in Alabama, lived with her parents and five siblings. Aver Estella Henderson and Arthur Cleveland Martin were married on 13 March 1921. She died on 5 Dec. 1992 in Alabama. Aver E. Martin is buried at Moodys Chapel Cemetery, Altoona, Alabama with her parents, her husband, their daughter Hazel, and other family.[5]
