The marriage certificate states the marriage occurred on 8th April 1893 - some 30 years after the birth of their first child James Archibald in 1861.

Marriage certificate for Elizabeth Watson Henderson and James Braddish dated 8th April 1893 shows she was 53 years old when she married. The certificate states she was born in Stirling, Scotland and her parents were William Henderson (blacksmith) and Margaret Sinclair. Other records show she had at least 5 children prior to the marriage. From a death database her parents are given as Archibald Henderson and her mother as Janet Sinclair.^[7][8]
