Biography

Claudia was born in Covington, Georgia, in August of 1853, to General Robert Henderson and Laura Wood. She married Edward Young Hill, son of Lodowick Hill and Martha Wellborn, in November of 1877. They had three known children:

• 1878-1957: Mary Wood, m. Harry Cantey, 1902
• 1882-1942: Edward Young, Jr., never married
• 1885-1905: Roderick Henri, never married

Edward died in April of 1923, and is buried at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington, Georgia. Claudia lived another seventeen years, passing in July of 1940. She was laid to rest at Elmwood Memorial Gardens in Columbia, South Carolina, but may have later been reinterred with Edward at Resthaven.
