Biography

John was a Private with Company A, 78th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War Around 1841 John moved his family from the farm to Antrim, Ohio where he studied for the ministry at Madison College. Unable to provide for his growing family, John went back to farming and teaching.

His first wife was Agness Walker, married 19 Apr 1838 in Guernsey County, Ohio.[1]

His second wife was Sarah Stewart, married 14 Oct 1850.

In the 1850 Census both Agness Henderson aged 31, and Sarah Stewart, aged 20, are living in the household.[2]

In the 1860 Census John is living in Canaan Township, Madison, Ohio. His father and stepmother Barbara are living in the household.[3]

In 1870 John and Sarah were living in Truro, Franklin, Ohio, and his father Andrew was living in the household.[4]

John was born before 1839. He passed away after 1855.
