Harry was born about 1884 in Leicester, Leicestershire the son of James Hebb (1860 - 1940) and Amy (Briers) Hebb (1862 - ).[1]
1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Harry a carpenter's apprentice, was living at 5 Heigh Street, Hastings, Sussex with his parents James and Amy, and his sisters Winifred, Dorothy and Florence.[2]
Harry a carpenter and joiner, married Alice Annie Sharpe (1875 - 1911) on the 30th July 1904 at St Barnabas' Church, Islington, Middlesex. They were living at 42 Citizen Road, Islington. Alice's father Henry was a bootmaker, and Harry's father was James Hebb. The witnesses were Henry G. Beaumont and Richard A. Faint.[3]St Barnabas' Church, Islington, Middlesex |
1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Harry an insurance canvasser with the Liverpool Victoria Assurance Society, was living at 23 Wedmore Gardens, Holloway, Middlesex with his wife Alice.[4]
The London Gazette issue dated the 30th June 1916 showed Harry as a Company Quarter Master Sergeant. He was later shown to be an Acting Captain in the Army Service Corps.[5][6]
