Biography

Hannah Heath was born in Shropshire, England.

Hannah was the only child of James Heath, a joiner, and Sarah Edwards. She was born in Whitchurch, Shropshire,^[1] where she was baptised on 1st October 1848.^[2]

Hannah was less than one year old when her mother died.^[3] Following Sarah's death, Hannah's father moved to Manchester, where the 1851 census revealed him boarding as a single man. Hannah's whereabouts at this time is unknown. She wasn't in the households of either her paternal or maternal grandparents; she has not been enumerated at all.

By 1861 Hannah had been reunited with her father and stepmother and lived in Whitchurch.
