Biography
Harriet was born in 1856.
The family migrated to Australia aboard the ship ORIZABA in 1890, disembarking at Port Adelaide SA. Christopher had emigrated previously in 1887 to work on the South Australian railways as a train driver.
Christopher and Harriet had 9 children:
- Sarah Gertrude: 1876-
- Kate Maria: 1877-1955
- William John: c1881-1952
- Thomas Christopher: c1883-1937
- Ernest James: c1884-1953
- George Henry: c1888-1942
- Leopold Leonard: 1891-
- Clement Douglas: 1893-1925
- Gwendoline Hatton: 1896-1897
Christopher passed away in 1898 from Typhoid, leaving Harriet to raise the 8 children alone. Harriet passed away in 1946, after living in the Solomontown home for 50 years.
