Birth
Frederick Charles Hanbury was born in May 1894 in British Columbia, Canada, son of Charles Hanbury and Susan Annie Biggs.
In 1896, Frederick's mother died as a result of complications following pregnancy and childbirth.
His father remarried in 1899.
In the 1911 Census of Canada, Frederick was in New Westminster, British Columbia. He was with his father and 2 siblings.[1]

World War One
Frederick served in the First World War with the 29th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry (British Columbia Regiment). He was killed in action on 9 August 1918. Frederick was buried in Rosieres-en-Santerre, Departement de la Somme, Picardie.[2] The grave is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. [3]
