Biography

William was born in 1810 to parents William Hamilton and Rachel Hunter. William married Emeline Hobbs in January 1841 in Lincoln Tennessee.^[1]

The 1850 census of Lincoln County, Tennessee shows William and Emmaline Hamilton with five children from two to seven years old. ^[2]

In 1860 William Hamilton and family are still in Lincoln County, Tennessee. The last name is misspelled Hamiton and Emmaline is misspelled as Caroline. There are nine children ranging in age from one to seventeen years old. This is the last census where Emmaline appears but she has three more children in 1861 and 1863. ^[3]

In 1870 William and his children were living in Smith County, Texas. Emeline had died before they left Tennessee.^[4] Sometime between the 1870 and the 1880 census, William died.
