— married
2 Dec 1741 (to before Aug 1773) in South Kingstown, Kings, Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations
Husband of
Elizabeth Coggeshall
— married
Aug 1773 in North Kingstown, Kings, Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations
According to his marriage record, William was the son of Robert Hall. Based on his marriage date, he may have been born about 1721.[1] (See also Other William Halls).
He, then of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, married first, Penelope Gardiner, also of North Kingstown, daughter of Isaac Gardiner, at South Kingstown (now Narragansett), Rhode Island, on December 2, 1741 ("2d 10m 1741") [Robinson, Gardiners of Narragansett, says "October"]. William had ten children, presumably all with this wife.[1][2][3]
He married second, Elizabeth Coggshall, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, in North Kingstown on February (August?) 14, 1773.[2][4]
William probably died about 1795, the date of his will.[2]
Children With Penelope Gardiner
The children of William and Penelope (Gardiner) Hall. If the ages of the children of William Hall are given correctly, the last having been born in 1764, and if the second marriage occurred in 1773, it follows, of course, that the children were all by first wife, Penelope. Ten children are mentioned in William's will of 1795. North Kingstown records give seven of them, five of whom are daughters. The order is given according to the will, the eldest generally being mentioned first.[2][3]
Penelope, born November 26, 1745; unmarried when her father died.[2]

South Kingstown, Rhode Island at Wikipedia. "The town of South Kingstown was formed in 1722 when the former Kings Towne was split into two parts, the other being North Kingstown. South Kingstown was incorporated in 1723. In 1888 a narrow strip of land running along the eastern bank of the Pettaquamscutt River to the shore of Narragansett Bay was separated from South Kingstown to form the town of Narragansett."
