Biography

Christina was born in 1832. She was the daughter of Donald Gunn and Elizabeth Ann Sutherland.

Christina left home at the age of 26 and immigrated to Australia as an Unassisted Migrant on board the 'Tudor' and arrive into Geelong, Victoria on the 14th March 1864.[1]

She married John "Peterson" in 1865.[2]

Christina passed away on the 2nd January 1903[3] and was buried at Cobar Cemetery the next day.[4]

Death

Obituary Early as the year is, the grim grasp of Death has already been laid on several local residents. Mrs Christina Barbara Peterson, an old and respected resident, died on Friday of last week and was buried next day. The deceased lady, who was 63 years old, leaves two daughters, Mrs C. Dutton and Mrs Stratton, and two sons, Messrs John and Albert Petersen, to mourn their irreparable loss.[4]
