In 1841 Barbara is recorded on the census as living with her husband Alexander, children James, George, Katherine at the family farm in Knockglass, Watten. Also on the census return were William McDonald, Benjamin Munro (potentially a male relative), James Sutherland, Janet Munro (another potential relative), Margaret Waters and Donald Bruce.[1]
Barbara was named as the mother of Peter Monroe who was born in Watten in August 1841 and baptised at the parish kirk on 30 August 1841.[2]
